Tennis

EDD Memorial Fund adapted tennis programs are designed around the unique needs of each participant; they celebrate ability and give children with disabilities an opportunity to excel.

“J.P loved playing tennis for the first time. The [Hartwick College] students were awesome. I was impressed with all the different activities they had.”

Our first tennis clinic in 2007 was a Grand Slam and we’re looking forward to the next one. The program is led by an enthusiastic group of volunteers from the Hartwick College Men’s and Women’s Tennis Teams. The clinic is open to young people with physical and/or developmental disabilities.

With extensive one-on-one support from the volunteers, kids learn how to hold a racket, handle the ball and practice volleying over the net. It is a fast-paced program with the participants moving through multiple activities throughout the session. Of course, we take plenty of water breaks to stay hydrated.

This program is generously supported by the Junior Tennis Foundation of the United States Tennis Association.
