The EDD Memorial Fund offers adaptive sports programs throughout the year to children and young adults with developmental and physical disabilities. Our free basketball, soccer, swimming and tennis clinics are currently available in Central New York State and a free soccer clinic is offered in Allentown, Pennsylvania. We partner with the Adaptive Sports Foundation and the Professional Ski Instructors of America to offer downhill skiing programs to young people in the tri-state area.

"Everyone was super as usual. We always look forward to these clinics." - parent

Our goal is to teach sports in a fun environment and to inspire kids to want to play sports. We believe that each child can learn to play by adapting activities to their ability level. Exceptional volunteers are the key to a great program and we try to keep a low volunteer-to-participant ratio, often 1:1. Our volunteers provide encouragement and work closely with the participants on basic skills like dribbling, shooting baskets or volleying a tennis ball over the net.

“Everyone involved centered their attention on helping the children achieve success and confidence.” - parent

Our clinics are about 2 hours long and begin with introductions and a set of warm-up exercises. Skill drills are followed by a game or scrimmage to practice new skills. All of our clinics end with an award ceremony where everyone wins. Safety is always a priority and our programs are fully insured.

After each program the participants tell us how much fun they had and we hear from parents how much they appreciate our programs.
