Creating Adaptive Sports Opportunities for Young People with Disabilities

How to Help

Sports are a vehicle for disabled individuals to build self-confidence and learn to believe in their potential. With one in twelve children age 5-20 living with disabilities, there is a great need for adapted sports programs. Physical activity is critically important for young people with disabilities because it improves motor coordination, strength, and flexibility and decreases the risk of secondary health problems later in life. Participation in sports programs also helps combat the isolation and depression experienced by many young people with disabilities.

The EDD Memorial Fund expands its programs each year to reach more young people with disabilities. With your help we can continue to provide these important programs.
